New Directions in Folklore is a special-interest section of the American Folklore Society that focuses on innovative and forward-looking avenues of folkloristic research.  Currently highlighted topics include, but are certainly not limited to: digital folklore, popular culture studies, and the intersection of folklore and technology.

Through our peer-reviewed journal and in our weekly blog posts, we invite folklorists to showcase, analyze, and discuss new and current cultural trends from a uniquely folkloristic perspective.

If you would like to join the section, please visit the AFS website.
